In the removal of friable asbestos, the materials containing must be adequately wetted before removal to limit airborne asbestos fibers, which are dangerous carcinogens. All asbestos-containing materials must also be intact when removed unless deemed impossible by the contractor. Additionally, everyone who handles asbestos must receive thorough training and education beforehand.
